… And They're In The World Cup

This week we were up against IKFC, who had just dropped down from the Championship and who would, no doubt, be keen to make sure they were travelling in the opposite direction at the the end of this season. Well, long story short, they knocked 2 goals past us in each half, while we failed to stick one in the back of their net, so 0 - 4. Was it as bad as it sounded? No. Gary hit the post in the first half and the bar in the second half. We tried to make a strong claim that the ball had crossed the line in the middle of the second half. With a minute to go, Andy decided to place a shot rather than drill it in the back of the net and, unfortunately merely stroked the ball the wrong side of the post, from where it left the self contained pitch through one of the access doors. Sort of summed up our performance.
Were we downhearted? In a word, yes. Was there a 4 goal margin between the 2 teams? No. Will we be back for more next? Of course we will, details below.

Next game - 21st June - PPK at 7pm

Shout Out for Top Talent

We're often looking for top talent that fancy 40 minutes of football on a Thursday evening.
If you're interested have a look at the page that shows where the games are played and contact me by email if you want more information.
It's a 3G surface; we play outdoors; 40 minutes (2 x 20 minute halfs); shin guards are compulsory; you must be a minimum of 16 years old; and the Leisure Centre dictate that it's guys only (sorry ladies). Kick offs are between 7pm and 9.15pm. Send me an email, now.
If you're an individual looking for a regular game on a Thursday evening and fall (roughly) into any one of these categories,
    keen and committed goalkeeper,
    no nonsense defender,
    inspirational midfielder,
    phenomenal forward.
Well, you're just the sort of fellow we'd like to meet. Even if you only partly fulfil one of the above descriptions, get in touch. Use the Contact page to send me an email.
Thanks, I hope to hear from you soon.
